He WON at MORPHETTVILLE over 1300m BEATING GROUP 1 VIC DERBY Performer COLONEL CUSTER.

His run in the HILL SMITH STAKES over 1800 last prep was full of merit finishing close up behind the winner BELUGA BLUE who followed up with a good 2nd in the Wakeful Stakes at Flemington behind PIERRO’S half sister AMBIENCE.

Due to his quality run in the HILL SMITH he was prepared for the GROUP 1 S.A. DERBY using the LISTED Port Adelaide GUINEAS over 1800m and the GROUP 3 CHAIRMAN STAKES over 2020m as his lead up races. The TOP LINER Howard Be Thy Name won all three races. Dropped performed admirably in all runs. He over raced in the Derby with the slow tempo at the rear and finished in a line with 2nd favourite Tarquin, Sacred Eye and Royal Rumble.
