JAI PLAY is the 6yo daughter of FOREPLAY from the RED RANSOM mare JAI HO the half to DO YOU THINK and AMARELA.

She is bred on the same DANEHILL cross as Champion 3yo filly GUELPH and is from the family of Group One winners COPPERAMA, FAINT PERFUME and DANENDRI.

Jai Play is a powerful type standing approx 15.2hh.

There is little doubt that mares with a strong Danehill influence will create quality as has been the case with other greats such as Mr. Prospector and Sadler’s Wells. Danehill dominated as a leading sire and leading broodmare sire as did Sadler’s Wells and Mr. P.

If you are unsure whether this type of breeding has the ability to create quality need only look at the pedigree of PHALARIS. His Dam Bromus was inbred to Springfield on the same 2 x 3 cross as JAI PLAY and apart from being a talented racehorse, leading sire and BM sire, Phalaris through his Sire Sons has dominated the breed with around 90% of all thoroughbreds tracing back to his line.

MARENOSTRO is a lightly raced Super Talented 7yo Gelding with 39 starts for 10 wins 9 placings and earnings of $505,900.

He has won on all track surfaces at Sydney Saturday Metro level but clearly has a liking for soft to heavy going. His best distance range is 1400m to 1600m.

His first up run this preparation in the Group 3 1500m Doncaster Prelude was top class where he made good ground on the worst part of the track to run a quality 3rd, showing he hasn’t lost his ability.

Horses like Marenostro are rare and will definitely suit those wanting a crack at the big metro prizemoney on offer. He will be suited to a small trainer who can keep him switched him on. His Trainer said he’s a “Very easy horse to ride work and deal with on the ground. Lovely boy.”

MARENOSTRO was sent for a well deserved spell after his last start and is currently rated a NSW BM93.

CIRCUS DANCER is the 4yo daughter of Walking Or Dancing from the Fastnet Rock mare Circus Rock.

She is definitely built in the mould of her Dam Sire FASTNET ROCK and is a solid unit standing 16hh.

Her trainer Matthew Smith believed her to be Sydney City Class.

Circus Dancer is being sold as a broodmare however does have the capacity to race. She was spelled after a niggling knee issue earlier this year and has been priced reflecting that issue.

Full brother to Group One winner HAWKSPUR.

After watching all DEVIL HAWK’S runs it is evident he only gives 100% when he is within striking distance on the turn and can see open space and clear running in front of him.

He won the Group 3 1600m Spring Stakes as a 3yo after seeing clear running at the top of the straight and proved too tough on the line.

His win 3 starts back over 2200m was impressive in the small field where he was in touch on the turn and once had clear running proved far to good.

Devil Hawk’s run in the Group One 2000m Champion Stakes was also quality. Off a slow tempo he was shuffled rearward and made a move at the 750m mark. In the blink of an eye he circled the field and was leading at the 600m and was left exposed, having to do too much in the straight yet only beaten 3.7L.

His 3 wins from 16 starts have all been at Metro / Group 3 level and have all been in small fields which gives great insight into how he needs to be ridden to see him in the winners stall more often.

DEVIL HAWK is definitely a horse with enormous upside who will suit racing in all regions.
