GUS LIGHTNING is the 3yo son of Group One sprinter-miler DASH FOR CASH out of the CAPE CROSS mare DIVINE SPIRIT from the elite family of DENISE’S JOY.

He has only had the one start over 1100m at Pakenham where he drew the outside gate with the plan to push forward and hopefully gain cover. Unfortunately he was caught 4 & 5 wide with no cover the whole journey and had naturally run his race entering the straight.

In his trial over 800m at Cranbourne Gus Lightning showed he possesses good early speed and also gave the impression he had plenty of improvement after having a big blow.
