ANTICIPATE is the well bred 4yo Gelding by G1 Stradbroke winner DANASINGA from the O’REILLY mare CHICHI ROMERO.

He was extremely impressive winning his first start over 1280m at Muswellbrook. He raced outside the favourite RED KNOT in front where they had a great battle up the straight. Anticipate got him right on the line with 3rd place a further 5.3 Lengths away. Red Knot went on to win his next 3 starts including a 40k & 30K event and now has 5 wins and $126,000 in prizemoney.

Anticipate was given a spell after his second start and was ok at his next start over 1300m first up however the rest of the prep was not to the level he is capable.

In his current preparation he has raced from 1280m to 1600m and has not been far off them running 4th first up only beaten 1.5L, then 5th in his next 2 starts over 1450m and 1600m.

Anticipate has demonstrated he is a horse with strong ability yet is not suited when a sharp sprint is required. He has good early speed and looks much better suited to a forward role where he can get rolling before the turn.
